Beer is Good – Hangovers are BAD! Help find the ulitmate hangover cure…
OK – So I’m sitting feeling like hell, I think I’m gonna throw up and a need a hangover cure!
Yesterday, when I decided to generously create this enormously important and useful site for my fellow tipplers, dedicated to making the dreaded hangover a thing of the past, I (erroneously as it turns out) decided that the best way to do some research would be to go out and get me a bit of a hangover and then try to cure it.
You’d think I’d have learned by now… the process of creating a hangover is so much fun that you forget that the consequences are going to be painful, and especially since I had consciuosly decided to get one, these was always room for one more shooter long after a sensible man would have quit and called a taxi. There may not be a hangover cure in existance that can fix this one…
Now, as you probably already know, there are several types of hangovers and I am currently afflicted with what I call a a “gut wringer”. I am seriously not a happy camper at the moment - but I will persisist in this most worthwhile endevour, and teach you all I have learned about avoiding hangovers and curing this most lamentable condition so that you may be spared a portion of the suffering that I am enduring right now on your behalf (that’s what a nice guy I am!).
I’m setting this out in a convenient blog type layout so that I can add more hangover cures as I hear them and try them out and, you can subscribe to the RSS feed so that you can learn about them, on-the-fly, without having
to return to this site. But since we all suffer together, I’m calling on YOU to help out, do your bit for the advancement of mankind and help us find the ultimate hangover cure!
Next time you go on a bender try one of the preventative measures and, if that doesn’t work, try one of the hangover cures and then post your comments and let the world know about what works and what doesn’t.
With a bit of luck, our collaberative experimentation will yield results and we will be able to announce to a grateful world that we have the hangover beaten, and we can now all enjoy our “occasional” alcoholic excesses without the fear of waking up feeling like you’ve been run over by a buss AND contracted the Ebola virus the night before.
Fine, you’re still gonna have to face those people that you were “entertaining” last night with your “incredible sense of humor” (note to self: exposing myself in public is NOT as funny as I seem to think it is) and you may have to explain that the toothless swamp donkey that you pulled really did look like a model at the time – but all this will be much easier to deal with without the phyical suffering!

This line:
“You’d think I’d have learned by now… the process of creating a hangover is so much fun that you forget that the consequences are going to be painful”
Is soo true, but it reminded of suicide hot wings for some reason…
Love the site…now where at the tips..Im one hungover girl .

I found some..there are so many ads on your page
I like your site. But where are the tips?! I was able to finish your whole post but I didn’t find any?! I thought you could help me.
The best way to get rid of a hangover is to immediately start drinking again.
Always heard that the best cure for a hangover is to drink exactly what you had the night before. Don’t know if this is good advice though!
Sad to find no tips here!
Forgot to add, here’s mine: 800 mg of ibuprofen and diner food!
I hate hangover…I always get bad headache once I woke up for hangover.
“gut wringer” that is brilliant! Hangovers really suck. I seem to do better these days by not drinking spirits (vodka) before I have gone out! Moderation is the key.:D
Taking too much ethanol which is present in alcohol causes hangover. Yes as author wrote, there is no direct method to avoid hangover. We can reduce it by taking large amount of water before going to sleep.
With Christmas party season well underway, this info is going to come in very useful!
No tips found here…The best cure for hangover is pineapple juice/shake. Works best for me.
I’ve always found that eating a lot of fresh fruit helps me beat a hangover. Only problem is its tough to eat fruit when you don’t feel good.
seriously i have it if you have a baroca before you go to bed i wake up in the morning really good. if not i am not keeping my food down thats for sure.
also i have found some great anti hangover pill you can get from the liqueur store here in australia which you take will your drinking that really make it as though you didnt drink at all.
Oh i thought you was gonna make me all better then. Where are the wonder cures i was hoping to find lol. Will have to stick to drinking pints of water and baroca.
The best cure for hangover is no beer!
Being a musician who plays at parties on a weekly basis, having a hangover cure to hand is essential! Although it is too late for you now – bear in mind for next time that an isotonic drink will replace the salts you have lost and rehydrate you, easing the pain of the hangover. My favourite is still orange Lucozade, really cold, straight from the fridge. Can’t beat it!
Hey Guys, check out this drink (Last Shot) at the website above. They’re launching in bars and stores in the Northeast sometime early summer but you can purchase it in “cap” form online right now.
Unlike other “remedies” out there, they don’t claim to be a worldwide phenomenon hangover cure; however, they guarantee you will feel much better than if you didn’t have their product, and most likely you’ll be surprised at how “really” good you feel.
Give them a shot! ha-ha No pun intended. Thanks!
Orange Juice…or tomatoe juice. I don’t know why it works, but drinking orange juice the next day helps immensely…maybe that is why bloody mary’s and screwdrivers are the drink of choice for those kind of mornings…however drink it without the alcohol.
What seems to really help is before going to bed drink a lot of water and then shortly later (within an hour of going to sleep) eat a lot of soft bread or crackers to absorb the alcohol in the stomach. While there is still some ill effects the next day, they are substantially less than just simply going to sleep.
I don’t know… I’ve tried the water thing that was said above and it didn’t work. Thus far, I’ve just learned to “grin and bear” the aftermath of an overly good time.
Never found a solution to this age old problem and as a result, as I got older I just gave drinking up all together. For me, it wasn’t worth it.
